ProofThing is a hotfolder application that harnesses the robust PDF handling of Adobe InDesign CS2 to automatically gang and print proofs of single-page PDFs.
It is designed for users who:
-
produce single-page PDF files in need of proofing
-
use proofing devices that are capable of printing these pages more than 1-up
-
do not use a RIP or workflow system that already provides gang-proofing capability

Features:
• Supports any number of hotfolder proofing queues, each with it’s own properties:
-
Hotfolder priority
-
Number of pages to gang per proof
-
PDF “box” region to include in the proof document: TrimBox, BleedBox, MediaBox
-
Trim and bleed mark characteristics: length, gap, weight, color
• Hotfolders are processed in priority order.
• Templates are easy to construct and maintain.
• Templates support a variety of text variables which are automatically replaced with queue- or proof-specific data when the proof document is created.
• Mac OS X (Universal) and Microsoft Windows versions available.

ProofThing monitors any number of hotfolders for incoming PDF files. When enough PDFs are present to fill the hotfolder's layout configuration, ProofThing uses the supplied InDesign Plug-In to create and print a proof document containing those PDFs and based on the hotfolder's template.
